The Fireplace in Brookline

The Fireplace in Brookline is a very inviting place. It definitely calls to you as you walk or drive by. I went to the fireplace for brunch today with my family and I didn't have the experience I thought I was going to have. I noticed right away that the staff seemed extremely busy. Maybe they were understaffed that day or busier than normal, I don't know?

It took some time for us to be seated and when we were it took some time for us to get drinks. I ordered some coffee and when it came I then had to wait for when I saw the waiter again to ask for creamer. Once I got the creamer, I realized I didn't have a spoon. So, I used a fork. I had the sun in my eyes the whole time I was there. It was very uncomfortable. I would consider only going there for dinner based on this one fact alone. I ordered a $10 Fireplace Burger. It was okay.

There wasn't anything amazing about it. I was done with my coffee half way through my meal and noticed that refills were something that the staff wasn't very good at offering. I finally got a second cup of coffee after a wait but when I was done with that one, I decided not to bother asking for a third. I was disappointed to say the least. I was left wishing I had gone to Moogy's or Zaftigs.
