Car Insurance: Episode 2

I received a letter yesterday from my car insurance. They claim that I'm responsible for the storage fees of my totaled vehicle. They say because I refuse to release my vehicle that it's my problem. If you had provided me with the information about the settlement process in writing as I requested and gave me a timeframe for when I could expect a settlement as I requested, I may have considered doing so.

However, trying to scare me into releasing my vehicle with financial threats without even trying to be civil first and then harassing my dealer with phone calls after they told you it's illegal for them to release the car without my permission won't get you far.

Today, I received a phone call saying that they had an offer. I thought I wouldn't receiver a settlement until I turned over the car and and now you have an offer. Why didn't you do this sooner? We could have been done with this a week ago. Now you want me to pay for storage fees because you're being difficult.

I've been calling them but I either get an answering machine or a busy signal. The letter had an email address so I sent an email, but no reply yet. They don't seem to care that I need a car to take my recovering wife and new born daughter to the doctor's office.

I'm still waiting for a reply to my email.
